Meditation & The Mind

“I couldn’t tell you how many people have said to me over the years ‘I can’t meditate.'” – Nathan Mills

What is meditation? How does it work? Why do the same meditation practices have different effects on some people than others?

In this workshop, participants will practice different types of meditation and discuss the implications of how some of these practices affect the brain. We will discuss the relationships between what certain spiritual texts say about meditation. We will also compare similarities of what modern science is currently discussing in regards to the neurological and physiological affects meditation has on the human system.

This workshop can be customized both to students who want to broaden their knowledge and understanding of meditation and how their brain works, and also to teacher training programs who want to expand their scope of ways to teach meditation to individuals and groups.
