Loyly SpaScreen Shot 2016-04-18 at 11.39.15 AM

Relaxation in a beautiful, clean and communal setting, inspired by the saunas of Scandinavia. The sauna is the heart of their facilities.  Löyly is the Finnish word for the steam that envelopes you when water is thrown on the hot sauna rocks. This steam is essential to the sauna experience, its soft heat warming the body and relaxing the mind. In the Finnish tradition, a sauna is a place where everyone is equal and you “leave your worries with your shoes.”

Skin is the transmitter, the liaison, the connector between us and the cosmos. Through our skin, we know the elements: we feel the heat of fire, the coolness of water, the magic of air, and the nourishment
of earth. Skin is a messenger; it is a portal. Our skin grounds us – out of the ether and into our bodies. Through our skin we experience the world. And through our skin the world experiences us. By bringing a diversity of nutrients to the skin in the form of oils, hydrosols, butters and clays, we too are realigning ourselves – our skin and bodies – with the rhythms of the earth.

Sara Bowes Acupuncture & Natural Medicine12523853_853790038100041_6014057657529716366_n

Sara Bowes is a Portland-based acupuncturist and natural medicine healer. Many of us have a sense that we could feel better in our bodies. Sara finds that much of the suffering we endure in our modern day is unnecessary and often avoidable. Classical medicine and a holistic view of the body offers a sophisticated means of making sense of every part, every little symptom, in the context of a dynamic whole. This makes for satisfying answers to the question of why you feel the way you do, and simple, safe, highly effective treatment that is lasting because it is addressing the root issue.

Elemental Bodywork | Amy BennettScreen Shot 2016-04-18 at 12.04.13 PM

Structural Integration can be considered a philosophy of bodywork rather than a specific set of techniques or a set formula for applying them. Working with the seamless web of interconnected fascia and with gravity as our guide, Amy invites you to explore and shift your unique form and its movement patterns in the direction of greater ease and grace. Often, once balance is restored to the overall system, chronic discomfort will resolve or ease on it’s own. By exploring and altering whole system patterns, we pave the way for change to occur and allow for the opportunity to rewrite our “fascial karma.”
